As you enter your late 20’s and early 30’s, it’s not uncommon to feel like you’ve lost a little pep in your step. Your daily life is now accompanied by increased feelings of fatigue, stress, aches and pains that only a few years earlier weren’t normal. While it’s easy to simply chalk these issues up to getting older, there are some things you can do to optimize your health and vitality.

The problem is that many people who want to take control over their health and how they live don’t know exactly what to do, or where to start. This is why I want to introduce you to Lifeforce, a premium diagnostic service designed to significantly improve your health. As Dugal Bain-Kim, CEO of Lifeforce puts it, “Lifeforce is the first comprehensive online platform for optimizing health and performance.”

Thanks to Lifeforce, I had the fortunate opportunity to test out their service, and it’s an understatement to say that I was impressed by the entire process. In this article, I’ll discuss my complete experience using Lifeforce, from a professional at-home blood test measuring 40+ biomarkers, to an hour-long telehealth consult with Dr. Renae Thomas, MD, MPH, B-BMed to review my results and deliver my personalized plan. If you’re serious about improving your well-being, then I encourage you to follow along and learn how Lifeforce may be able to positively impact your health.

How does Lifeforce work?

After having the chance to interview Dugal Bain-Kim, CEO of Lifeforce, he made it very clear that the primary goal of the company is to empower members with all of the knowledge, answers and solutions they need to improve their health. If you truly value your health, then it’s important to know and understand what’s going on under the surface of your skin. In this section, I’ll discuss the entirety of the Lifeforce journey and how the entire process works.

Months 0-1 (Measure Baseline)

The Lifeforce membership begins with a baseline measurement of over 40 key biomarkers linked to overall health, as well as physical and mental performance. While your blood work is being tested, Lifeforce will begin documenting your past health history and goals for the future through a brief online questionnaire. This information will provide context for your Lifeforce clinician when analyzing your blood test results, allowing them to more accurately understand your specific needs. When your blood tests are complete, you will receive a notification to schedule your first telehealth conference with your clinician at your convenience. I was able to schedule my session within three days of receiving the results. During the telehealth conference, the clinician will review your results with you and give you their professional opinion on how to improve your health, whether it be through lifestyle optimization, supplementation, etc.

Months 2-5 (Start your Plan)

During the next few months, the goal is to put your personalized plan into action. This typically starts by addressing the quickest wins, or as I like to say, high-impact changes that will rapidly improve how you feel and perform. At the three-month mark, you will also conduct your second blood test to see if the changes you’ve been making are working, to see what’s improved and to determine what still needs work.

Note that Lifeforce’s programs are moving biomarkers that matter within three months. Based on data from patient-reported outcomes from over 5,000 Lifeforce members, Lifeforce is reporting the following results:

  • 85% of Lifeforce members improved at least one quality of life measurement within the first three months
  • Lifeforce members saw a three-month average increase in DHEA levels of 193%
  • Negative 25% average three-month reduction in hsCRP, a key marker of heart attack and stroke risk.

Months 6-9 (Fine-Tune)

Lifeforce labels months six through nine as the time when you should be fine-tuning your health. Lifeforce reports that they are seeing significant and reliable improvements over the first three-months for more easily targeted biomarkers, such as vitamin deficiencies and hormone balance. However, during months six through nine, Lifeforce says individuals are seeing improvements for more complex goals such as systemic inflammation and improvements in overall metabolic health.

Months 9+ (Actively Maintain)

Lifeforce notes that health optimization isn’t a “one and done” process and instead requires active maintenance to remain your best self. The body is a dynamic thing that continues to change as you age, and your Lifeforce membership will allow you to confront and help solve new issues as they arise.

How much is Lifeforce?

Lifeforce is a premium service that comes with a monthly price point similar to group fitness gym memberships or boot camps, such as CrossFit, Orangetheory, F45 or ISI. The initial cost to set up your membership, your initial blood test and your first telehealth conference will cost $349, with each additional month priced at $129. While this cost is definitely an investment in your health and wellness, it’s difficult to put a price tag on your overall health. It’s also highly possible that Lifeforce’s service could possibly save you money down the line on medical bills and prescription drugs due to improved health outcomes.

In addition to the cost of the membership, Lifeforce also sells nutraceutical supplements to assist in optimizing your health. While these may be recommended during your telehealth consultation, you do not need to purchase these products and there are no pushy sales-tactics to get you to do so.

Who should use Lifeforce

Lifeforce

Lifeforce is created for anyone looking to optimize their health and performance. However, individuals who may be specifically interested in this service include anyone who no longer feels like themselves. In our fast-paced lives, it’s so easy to get caught up in our families, careers and day-to-day lives that we often forget about self care. Overtime we may stop being active, de-prioritize nutritious foods or overdo it on alcohol; all things that contribute to chronic disease and poor metabolic health. If nothing else, Lifeforce is a reminder that your health is important and that you can dramatically improve your well-being through lifestyle optimization and supplementation. If you are serious about improving your health, feeling your best and performing at your best, then a membership with Lifeforce can definitely help you achieve your health and fitness goals.

Who should not use Lifeforce

I truly believe that almost anyone can benefit from using Lifeforce, however, individuals under the age of 30 may not see the same benefits as older populations, since their blood markers are less likely to be in the suboptimal ranges. That being said, due to modern society and the systemic western diet, chronic illnesses such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease are more apparent than ever in younger generations.
