How the Plunge All-In Works

New Plunge All-In man and woman

The Plunge All-In is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

The beauty of the Plunge All-In lies in its simplicity. The entire system comes with free in-home delivery and the delivery crew will place it anywhere within your house up to two floors above or below entry level. Once delivered, it’s truly a plug-and-plunge setup experience, as the only thing you need to do is fill the tub with water. (However, Plunge does recommend waiting four hours from the time of delivery to allow the chiller system to rest before turning it on.) From there, it’s as simple as starting up the chiller via the Plunge app, setting your desired temperature level and waiting for the water to cool. You are then ready to start your cold plunge journey.

If you’re taking your first cold plunge, then Plunge advises you to take it slow. Starting with a temperature of around 50 degrees Fahrenheit and 30 seconds to one minute in the tub is enough to elicit the benefits of cold water therapy without overwhelming your body. From there, you can experiment with longer times and colder temperatures to meet your needs. That being said, it is important to note that the American Heart Association warns about the risks of irresponsibly engaging in cold water immersion. If you experience irregular breathing, chest pain, lightheadedness or a change of skin color on your toes or fingers, it’s a sign you have plunged for too long and should get out immediately.

Plunge All-In Design and Features

To learn all about the new Plunge All-In, I had the opportunity to speak with Ryan Duey, the CEO of Plunge. "We take pride in crafting our own products, ensuring that each plunge is a masterpiece of quality and innovation," he says. "Additionally, our national repair and support network guarantees on-site assistance whenever you need it, providing peace of mind to our customers. Lastly, our extensive network of partners and dedicated ambassadors further reinforces our position as a leader in the field, allowing us to reach and inspire a global community of cold water enthusiasts."

In addition, the All-In brings the following design innovations and features to the table:

  • Sleek and aesthetic design that features a built-in cooling unit that’s integrated directly into the tub
  • An improved variable-speed fan and pump that offer a 30 percent reduction in noise for a quieter plunging experience
  • The All-In remote control and real-time temperature adjustment app
  • A brand new easy-access filter design for quick filter replacement
  • Upgraded commercial features, including an improved filter and hair trap, that allow the All-In to be used in both residential and busy commercial environments

In addition to all of these innovations, the Plunge All-In offers a number of extra goodies included with every purchase. Every Plunge All-In comes standard with free in-home delivery, a one year warranty, an insulated spa cover, a cell phone holder, skimmer net, guided plunge videos and a lucky rubber ducky.

What We Love About the Plunge All-In

As soon as you see the Plunge All-In, you can appreciate its sleek, hand-crafted design and careful attention to detail. Not only is this a powerful tool in your health and wellness arsenal, but its aesthetic design and durable materials allow you to place it anywhere inside or outside of your house without it being an eyesore. What we love about the All-In in particular is the integrated chiller system that’s built directly into the tub. This not only reduces the noise of the chiller, but also cleans up the entire appearance of the Plunge and helps to maximize the space of your home. We also love the additional features, such as the intelligent maintenance system that notifies you exactly when to change the filter (taking all the guesswork out of the equation), but also the Plunge app that allows you to control the All-In from anywhere and adjust the temperature on the fly.

While I have yet to personally test the Plunge All-In, I have had the opportunity to use the brand's commercial Plunge Pro at the 2023 CrossFit games in Madison Wisconsin. Despite temperatures being in the high 90s and countless users hopping in and out of the tubs, the powerful chiller systems were able to keep the water temperature stable at around 45 degrees Fahrenheit. While I don’t think I could have personally gone much lower, the chiller system on the Plunge All-In is even more powerful and capable of reaching temperatures as low as 38 degrees Fahrenheit under ideal conditions. If you live in a warmer climate and plan on keeping your system outdoors, then the Plunge All-In may be the way to go if you’re looking to experience these ice cold temperature ranges.

What to Consider Before Buying the Plunge All-In

Plunge All-In

The Plunge All-In features a built-in chiller, shown here.

Ironically, cold plunges have been a very hot topic over the past few years. This has resulted in a number of scientific studies being performed to identify the potential benefits of cold water therapy. Based on the research, if you purchase the Plunge All-In, consistent use could help:

If these benefits seem worth it, then consider whether investing in a Plunge All-In may be right for you. While this system is pricey, it does provide a range of amazing features and convenience that most other cold plunge systems on the market can’t match. I also believe that Plunge’s commitment to excellence extends from its product design and engineering to its customer service. Its national repair and support network guarantees on-site assistance whenever you need it, providing peace of mind to all of their consumers. While I do encourage you to research other cold plunge systems, such as Sun Home Saunas Cold Plunge Pro or the Redwood Outdoors Pacific Cold Plunge, I personally think that all things considered, the Plunge All-In is one of the best products available.

Plunge vs. Plunge All-In

Both the Plunge and Plunge All-In are phenomenal cold plunge tubs that visually have a lot of similarities. They both only come in a single color option, white, and are made from a durable fiberglass and acrylic with a reinforced metal base. In terms of differences, the first thing you will notice is that the standard Plunge uses a chiller system that stands outside and separate from the tub. While you can place the chiller unit towards the back or side of your tub to keep it out of view, it is difficult to hide it completely. On the other hand, the Plunge All-In integrates the chiller system directly into the tub for a sleeker and more aesthetic design. This also helps to reduce the noise of the chiller system by around 30 percent, as well as shield it from the elements if stored outside. In addition, the chiller system on the Plunge All-In is more powerful and includes a stronger pump for improved water filtration.

In the end, both systems will provide you with an amazing cold water immersion experience. However, if you are looking for a larger, sleeker and more powerful system with all the bells and whistles, then the Plunge All-In is definitely the way to go.
