The Gators gave up two runs in the bottom of the third to go down a run, but they answered with two runs in the top of the fourth and one more in the fifth to take control of the game. Cade Kurland and Jac Caglianone were great at the top of the lineup as they both had three hits and an RBI. They had six of the 10 this for the Gators in the opening game win.

The Hurricanes opened the season red-hot as they swept NJIT and scored 43 combined runs in three games.
