The Toronto Raptors (23-40) and Portland Trail Blazers (17-45) close out their regular season series against each other today. In the first game between the teams Portland won all the way back in October in the first week of the season. That game might as well have happened 10 years ago with how Toronto has reshaped its roster since. Between that game and the trade deadline Toronto moved OG Anunoby to the New York Knicks and Pascal Siakam to the Indiana Pacers, focusing the roster on first year All-Star Scottie Barnes this season and going forward. This will be good and fun NBA.

In that win Portland was without Anfernee Simons, but got strong performances from Jerami Grant (22 points), Deandre Ayton (10 points and 23 rebounds) and rookie Scoot Henderson (11 points and seven assists).
Henderson has grown a lot over the course of the season raising his points and assists per game each month while reducing his turnovers. With Henderson playing at this level, Simons back in the fold and Portland’s defense as competitive as any non-playoff team they are in a position to play spoiler every game down the stretch.
Toronto has also seen a rookie start to play his best basketball as of late. Gradey Dick has come on strong since the All-Star Break averaging 11.5 points per game on 44.6% shooting from three in 23.0 minutes per game. Dick’s ability to shoot the ball has opened up the offense around Barnes and the newlook roster.
