On Friday night, third-seeded Morehead State and second-seeded UT Martin will meet in the second semifinal with the hopes of earning a spot in the Ohio Valley tournament final. The Eagles extended its win streak to four games last night when the team earned a 78-63 win over Southern Illinois Edwardsville on Thursday night. The Cougars were led by Riley Minix who scored 20 points while Jordan Lathan and Kalil Thomas joined him in double figures with 17 and 15 points, respectively. Eddie Ricks III rounded out the double digit scorers with 11 points. Minix also led on the boards with 10 rebounds to earn a double-double in the quarterfinal victory.

The second-seeded Skyhawks earned an automatic bye in the first round of play as they finished the regular season with an overall record of 21-10 and a conference record of 14-4. The team has won seven straight games with the most recent being a 96-87 win over Tennessee State in the season finale. Jordan Sears led the scoring efforts for the Skyhawks with a big 34-point performance and Jacob Crews finished right behind him with 33 points. Crews narrowly missed a double-double in the win as he finished with a team-high nine rebounds.
The last time UT Martin and Morehead State met resulted in an 88-82 win for UT Martin.
