For the fourth straight season, Caitlin Clark and third-ranked Iowa (28-4) are playing for the Big Ten Championship. The Hawkeyes lost in Clark’s freshman season, then won the tournament in back-to-back seasons. Now for the fourth straight season, the Hawkeyes have the opportunity to be crowned champions of the Big Ten with one more win over Nebraska (22-10). This season the Hawkeyes and the Cornhuskers split their two games. In those two matchups, the teams played in high-scoring, exciting games running up the score to over 160 combined points in both.

In her two games against the Cornhuskers this season Clark averaged 34.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game. Since that loss Clark has been unstoppable with the Hawkeyes looking like a real threat to win the National Championship this season.
The last time these teams played the Cornhuskers not only upset the Hawkeyes, but they prevented Clark from breaking the all-time scoring record. She eclipsed that mark the next game, but that upset stung for the Hawkeyes and dropped them from second to fourth in the rankings.
The Cornhuskers stunned the Hawkeyes, outscoring them 27-10 in the final period. Jaz Shelley led the way with 23 points and five assists going 5-10 from three. Alexis Markowski added 15 points (2-2 from three) and Logan Nissley came off the bench for 15 points (3-7 from three) in the win. Those three and the rest of the Cornhuskers will need to play at that level or even better to pull off a second upset of the Hawkeyes here in the Big Ten Championship Game.
