On Friday night, top-seeded Quinnipiac will take on fifth-seeded Saint Peter's as the teams meet in the quarterfinal round of the MAAC tournament. The Bobcats come into Friday night's game with an overall record of 24-8 and a conference record of 15-5 to take the regular season title. In the win, Paul Otieno led all scorers with 19 points and earned a double-double by grabbing 12 rebounds, as well. Matt Balanc added 17 points and teammate Savion Lewis dished out 11 assists. On the season, the Bobcats are led offensively by Balanc who averages 18.5 points per game. Lewis is third in the nation, averaging 7.2 assists per game.

The Peacocks made it through to the semifinal round on Friday after beating fourth-seeded Rider on Thursday night in a narrow 50-48 victory. Michael Houge led the Peacocks in scoring with 20 points while Marcus Randolph joined him in double figures with 10 points. Latrell Reid pulled down a team-leading 11 rebounds to go along with seven points. The team struggled with shooting, finishing the game at 28.8% from the field and just 23.1% from the three-point line; marks the Peacocks will need to improve upon for a chance to upset Quinnipiac on Friday.
Saint Peter's and Quinnipiac met in the season finale and the game resulted in an 89-74 victory for Quinnipiac.
