On Friday, the Braves earned their shot at the title with an upset over second-seeded Grambling State in a narrow 61-59 victory to extend their win streak to four games. Destiny Brown led the team offensively with a 19-point performance while Zy’nyia White and Nakia Cheatham joined her in double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Cheatham pulled down a team-high eight rebounds to narrowly miss a double-double in the team's semifinal win.

While Alcorn State had a close game in the semifinals, Jackson State won handily over fourth-seeded Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a 70-48 victory, marking the team's 20th straight win. Andriana Avent and Ti'lan Boler each scored 19 points to lead the Tigers in scoring. Angel Jackson and Miya Crump were also in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Jackson recorded a double-double in the win with a team-high 12 rebounds. While Jackson State only shot 33.8% from the field and just 20% from beyond the arc, it was plenty to get the job done and earn a spot in the title game.
When Jackson State and Alcorn State met in regular season play a few weeks ago, the Tigers earned a 62-54 victory.
