The Lancers are looking for their second WAC tournament title after winning in 2021, but were unable to go to the NCAA tournament as they were still in their transition period after moving up from Division II. Stephen F. Austin is looking for its third NCAA tourney trip in four years after missing last season.

The Ladyjacks dropped 25 points in the second period against the Lopes and took the lead for good on Kurstyn Harden's free throws with 2:27 in their 66-63 victory on Friday. Harden finished with 16 points while Tyler McCliment-Call had 13. Harden averages 17.4 points and 7.3 rebounds while Kyla Deck scores 12.3 points per game.
California Baptist had much less drama in its 83-67 win over No. 5 seed UT Arlington on Friday. Anaiyah Tu'ua scored 16 points, Nhug Bosch Duran added 15 and Chloe Webb finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Webb averages 21.0 points and 7.9 rebounds while Khloe Lemon, who just returned from missing six weeks with an injury, nets 12.4 points per game.
The Lancers are 4-2 all-time against Stephen F. Austin and have won the last four times they've played. After a 97-75 blowout at home on Jan. 27, California Baptist escaped with a 100-96 overtime road win on Feb. 29.
