Texas A&M Football 2022-23 Season Preview
The Aggies will start the season ranked No. 6 in the country. They open at home against Sam Houston and App State before the schedule really gets tough. On Sep. 17, the Aggies will host Miami, the first of three games against preseason ranked teams in a four game stretch, culminating with a road trip to Alabama on Oct. 8.
But after that Alabama game, things get easier. In the final six games, the Aggies play just one team—Ole Miss—that's ranked in the preseason poll. They end the season on Nov. 26 with a home game against LSU.
The biggest question mark for A&M is under center. Haynes King is set to be the starter again, but last season's injuries limited him to just two games. He completed 62.9% of his passes for 300 yards with two touchdowns and three picks. Freshman Conner Weigman is projected to be the future of A&M, but it's unclear if he'll see the field this year.
The team added a huge weapon for King in wide receiver Evan Stewart. The freshman was one of the best high school wideouts in the country last year and should provide some versatility to this offense.

Defensively, the team lost some key players to the NFL, but they still return a lot of pieces from a defense that ranked third in the FBS last year in points allowed per game.
