The Rugby Sevens Championships are kicking off at Stanford on Saturday with the opening match being played between Cal and host Stanford. The defending champions, the Golden Bears, are 15-1 this season with the only loss coming against the St. Mary's Gaels by a score of 14-24 a month ago. The Bears bounced right back to beat the Gaels 31-14 in their next outing and have won the following nine games. The team's most recent win came against Arizona in a 33-14 victory. Cal will look to Oliver Newall, Solomon Williams and Cormac Saint to score early and very often.
