The 96th Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, is set to air live on Sunday, with it all getting started with Live From the Red Carpet: Oscars on E!. The awards show will honor the best films of 2023, taking place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The nominations were announced on Jan. 23, with Oppenheimer leading the way with 13 nods, followed by Poor Things and Killers of the Flower Moon with 11 and 10, respectively. The event will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, with Amelia Dimoldenberg hosting the pre-show. The 96th Academy Awards will be produced by Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan, and directed by Hamish Hamilton.

The films nominated for Best Picture this year are American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, Barbie, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Oppenheimer, Past Lives, Poor Things and The Zone of Interest.
Of those nominated for Best Picture, only five get to be considered for Best Director. The nominations for Best Director this year are Justine Triet (Anatomy of a Fall), Martin Scorcese (Killers of the Flower Moon), Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer), Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things) and Jonathan Glazer (The Zone of Interest).
