Clark enters Sunday's final round trailing Xander Schauffele by one stroke and is one shot up on Brian Harman, who fired a 64 on moving day. Defending champion Scottie Scheffler, battling through a stiff neck, remains in contention at 12-under-par, five shots off the lead. Scheffler is attempting to become the first back-to-back winner at the Players in its 50-year history. Maverick McNeely and Matt Fitzpatrick enter Sunday tied for fourth at 13-under.

The winner earns $4.5 million of the $25 million purse along with 750 FedExCup points. The purse is the largest on the PGA Tour.
Scheffler is tied for sixth with Sahith Theegala, with Nate Lashley in solo eighth at 11-under-par and the trio of Taylor Montgomery, Hideki Matsuyama and J.T. Poston sharing ninth place at 10-under.
Jack Nicklaus won the inaugural tournament in 1974 and is the lone three-time winner at the Players. Tiger Woods was the last to win a second Players title in 2013, while Fred Couples, Steve Elkington, Hal Sutton and Davis Love III are the other two-time winners.
