Colton Herta will start at the front on Sunday for the Sonsio Grand Prix at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, while driver standings leader Álex Palou opens in the third position on the 4.048-mile road course located between Milwaukee and Green Bay. The big story leading up to race day was a collision between defending IndyCar Series champion Will Power and six-time champ Scott Dixon during practice on Saturday that led to Power shoving Dixon. Both cars sustained heavy damage just three hours before qualifying and both cars will start near the back of the field, with Power in the 22nd position and Dixon in 23rd.

Pato O'Ward will start beside Herta on the front row, with Josef Newgarden opening outside of Palou on the second road. Kyle Kirkwood will start sixth after he did not run in the third round of qualifying, the Firestone Fast Six, because smoke was coming out of the car after the second round of qualifying ended.
Palou has taken a 51-point lead over Marcus Ericsson after wins in two of the last three races, including a dominant win in the Detroit Grand Prix on June 4.
Sunday's race is scheduled for 55 laps and 222.64 miles. Newgarden won here last year, finishing 3.3710 seconds ahead of Ericsson after leading 26 laps. It was his second win at Elkhart Lake after also taking the checkered flag in 2018.
