It's NASCAR weekend for the NTT IndyCar Series, with the Gallagher Grand Prix being run at Indianapolis Motor Speedway's road course on Saturday afternoon. NASCAR's Xfinity Racing Series races later on Saturday before the NASCAR Cup Series runs on Sunday. Álex Palou brings an 84-point lead in the season standings to Indy with four races remaining on the schedule. Josef Newgarden is second with six-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon 126 points behind. Scott McLaughlin is also mathematically in the hunt with a 142-point gap. Palou won the spring race at the IMS road course back in May while Newgarden won the Indianapolis 500 on Memorial Day weekend.

Alexander Rossi won on NASCAR weekend in 2022, beating Christian Lundgaard by 3.5441 seconds. It was Rossi's most recent win as he is 11th in the driver standings this season.
Graham Rahal won the pole position for Saturday's race, turning in a lap time of 1:10.1132 to claim his first P1 since 2017. Lundgaard, Rahal's teammate at Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, will start alongside Rahal on the front row. Rossi qualified third, Pato O'Ward fourth and Devlin DeFranceso fifth. Palou starts ninth and Newgarden will begin in 19th.
The race will cover 85 laps around the 2.439-mile course that incorporates portions of Turns 1 and 2 and the front straightaway of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval, with the remainder of the course in the infield. There are 14 turns on the course.
