The Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays begin a two-game series in Santo Domingo on Saturday evening.

The Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays head to Santo Domingo on Saturday for the first of two games in the Dominican Republic Series. The Red Sox come to the Dominican on a two-game losing streak and 8-6 on the spring. They had won four of five, but lost to the Minnesota Twins 7-1 on Wednesday and then the Atlanta Braves 3-2 on Thursday. They did get an early lead on the Braves with a run in the first, but gave up two in the top of the second and never led again. Saturday they will look to bounce back and get a win over a Rays team they beat 7-4 back on Tuesday.

The Rays, though, are looking to even the spring series and avenge that loss. They have won both of their games since they fell to the Red Sox. They got good pitching in beating the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies.

The consecutive wins snapped a streak of seven straight games without a win. They did tie the Minnesota Twins on March 3rd, but had lost their other six games.

They now sit at 4-7 on the spring and are looking to start to turn things around as we get to the midpoint of the spring schedule.
