How to Watch Diamondbacks at Rockies: Stream MLB Spring Breakout Live, TV Channel

Most of the top prospects for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies will be at the inaugural Spring Breakout for each team at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick on Saturday

Prospects take center stage on Saturday night at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottdale, Arizona, as most of the top candidates in the organizations of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies meet in a seven-inning exhibition game. For the Diamondbacks, shortstops Jordan Lawlar, age 21, and 22-year-old Tommy Troy are both on the roster, as is outfielder Druw Jones, the son of 10-time Gold Glove center fielder Andruw Jones. Colorado's top prospect is 20-year-old middle infielder Adael Amador, signed to a $1.5 million international signing bonus back in July 2019. He posted a .287/.380/.495 slash line with 12 home runs across three levels last season.

Lawlor, who was on Arizona's postseason roster during its World Series run last fall, was in competition for the everyday shortstop job for the Diamondbacks but lost out to incumbent Geraldo Perdomo after going 3-for-17 this spring. Troy got a couple of at-bats in "A" games this spring while Jones went second overall in the 2022 draft.

Rockies right-hander Chase Dollander, 22, is slated to play in the Arizona Complex League this year after being taken ninth overall last summer out of the University of Tennessee while outfielder Yanquiel Fernandez played across three levels, reaching Double-A, and slashed .265/.313/.486 with 25 home runs and 92 RBI. Plate discipline is a work in progress for the 21-year-old, who struck out 132 times with just 32 walks.

Among prospects MLB Pipeline projects as 2024 arrivals in the majors are Lawlar, 20-year-old left-hander Yu-Min Lin and 23-year-old outfielder Jorge Barrosa for Arizona and 22-year-old outfielders Sterlin Thompson and Zac Veen as well as 22-year-old catching prospect Drew Romo for Colorado.
