How to Watch Shriners Children's 500, Qualifying: Stream NASCAR Cup Series Live, TV Channel
Three weeks into the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series schedule and three drivers have already secured provisional spots in the season-ending playoffs with race wins. Kyle Larson, the 2021 Cup champion, joined the list last week in Las Vegas after William Byron and Daniel Suárez opened the season with wins at Daytona and Atlanta, respectively. On Saturday, drivers go through qualifying for the Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway. The race entails 312 laps around the one-mile asphalt tri-oval noted for its low banking and cover a little more than 500 kilometers, thus making the race name accurate. The event was known as the United Rentals Work United 500 last year before a sponsorship change.

Byron took the checkered flag last year in Phoenix, finishing 0.330 seconds ahead of 2023 NASCAR Cup winner Ryan Blaney in a race that had five laps of overtime added. Larson led the race for 201 laps but was overtaken by Byron on the white-flag lap and finished fourth.
Larson leads Blaney by eight points in the early-season standings, with Martin Truex Jr. 14 points back. Byron is fourth with a 15-point gap and Ross Chastain rounds out the top five, trailing by 20 points.
