How to Watch Toronto Raptors vs. Golden State Warriors in NBA Summer League: Live Stream, TV Channel, Start Time
A rematch of the 2019 NBA Finals is happening in Las Vegas, this time with players proving they belong on the big stage.
A lot has changed for these teams in the last two years. First, in Toronto, the Finals MVP, Kawhi Leonard, fled and recently, their franchise cornerstone, Kyle Lowry, signed a deal to suit up for the Miami Heat next season. So the Raptors are back to looking for an identity.
After a dismal 27-45 season, Toronto landed the 4th pick in the draft, which they used to select Scottie Barnes out of Florida State. With trade rumors swirling around Pascal Siakam, Barnes looks to fill the void that could be left behind. The Raptors need players that can play alongside Fred Van Vleet, Gary Trent Jr. and OG Annunoby. There’s a high chance those filling these spots are guys playing for them in Vegas right now. Malachi Flynn is an example of that. Flynn, along with Barnes, shined in the Raptors' first game, and it’s increasingly likely he’ll be taking a portion of the minutes Lowry left behind.
On the other side, the Warriors are amid a pivotal Summer League of their own. Gone are the ideas of a dynasty or a world-beating super team. Instead, Golden State found themselves clinging to an all-time regular-season performance by Stephen Curry only to barely make the play-in game but miss the playoffs. Now, with Klay Thompson coming back and two lottery picks in last month’s draft, the Warriors are back to trying to contend for titles.
