The Toronto Raptors may have 12 more wins than the Detroit Pistons, but this season series is tied heading into this finale on Wednesday. The Raptors are the team trying to avoid a five-game losing streak, while the Pistons are coming off a win and have won two of their last three. The last game these two played was right before the new year and Detroit won a close one 129-127. It was the game that ended a NBA record-tying losing streak at 28 games. Detroit is celebrating another win in an effort against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night. Cade Cunningham scored 22 points and the Pistons got a rare sweep against an opponent this season, getting all three games against Charlotte. All five starters scored in double digits with Detroit getting a great start to cruise to victory. The Pistons will have the opportunity to snap a tie with the Washington Wizards for the worst record in the league tonight.

Not if Toronto has anything to say about it though. But the Raptors are coming off one of their toughest losses in what has turned out to be a rebuilding season. Toronto lost to the Denver Nuggets on Monday 125-119, but the Raptors were up 21 points after a dominant second quarter. But Jamal Murray scored 12 points of his 26 in the final quarter to help pull off the comeback. Nikola Jokic was deadly as always with his 21st triple double of the season and he scored 35. What shouldn't be lost in the shuffle is R.J. Barrett's performance, leading the team with 26 points.
The good news is that tonight's matchup is on the opposite side of the spectrum than the reigning champs.
