For the Sharks, this is the second game of a five-game road trip. San Jose kicked this stretch off on Tuesday on the other side of the state of Pennsylvania, losing 3-2 to the Philadelphia Flyers. Prior to this trip, the Sharks beat the Ottawa Senators 2-1 in their most recent home game on Saturday.
For the Penguins this is the first game of a three-game homestand. Pittsburgh faced Ottawa last time out, losing 2-1 in overtime in that one.
