Phillies, Astros Look to Clinch Word Series Berths

Plus, Patrick Mahomes faces the 49ers’ defense.

Could we have our World Series matchup set today? The Astros and Phillies could both end their series with wins. We also have another loaded slate of NFL games and Formula One’s United States Grand Prix is in Austin.

Here’s what I’m watching.

San Diego Padres at Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies’ ability to respond was on display last night. After going down 4–0 in the top of the first, they fought back with three runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning and added the tying run in the fourth. Then, after surrendering a two-run homer in the top of the fifth, they erupted for four runs in their half, propelling them to what ended up being a 10–6 win.

Now up 3–1 in the series, Philadelphia will be rocking with a chance to see their team reach the World Series.
