How to watch the CFP Semifinals on New Year’s Eve

Happy New Year! This is our final edition of SI Guide in 2022, taking you through all the action from today through Jan. 2. We wrap things up in ‘22 in style with the College Football Playoff semifinals, then start 2023 with a bang: Week 17 of the NFL season.

Fiesta Bowl: No. 3 TCU vs. No. 2 Michigan

Michigan’s season came to an end at this point last year, when the Wolverines got blown out by Georgia in the Orange Bowl. This time, they run into what has been the sport’s team of destiny in TCU, which got into the CFP despite losing to Kansas State in the Big 12 championship game. Heisman finalist Max Duggan will try to crack the code of Michigan’s fierce defense and help continue the Horned Frogs’ wild ride.

Peach Bowl: No. 4 Ohio State vs. No. 1 Georgia

Ohio State has a new lease on life after backing into the CFP and now gets a rare opportunity to play as the underdog. Talent-wise, these Buckeyes play second fiddle to no one. Can C.J. Stroud and the rest of this explosive offense break through against the dominant Georgia defense? Doing so, especially in Atlanta, won’t be easy.
