UConn and Creighton Face Off in Big East Battle
The countdown to Super Bowl LVII is on. But before we settle in for the Big Game (and Rihanna’s halftime show), we have a day full of high-level college hoops to watch. From a major matchup in the Big East to the Iron Bowl played out on the hardwood, we could learn a lot about the landscape in men’s college basketball today. Here’s what I’m watching.
MUST WATCH:
Men’s CBB: No. 21 UConn at No. 23 Creighton
These Big East contenders are two of the most talented squads in the country, but midseason swoons set them back in the race for a top NCAA tournament seed. Creighton, which began the season ranked in the top 10, lost six straight games in November and December, but has since won 10 of 12 to climb back into the top 25. While the Bluejays struggled, UConn rose all the way to No. 2 before suffering a 2–5 stretch. Now coming off a 15-point win over No. 10 Marquette, the Huskies have another chance to prove they’re all the way back.
