Samsung’s The Frame TV blurs the line between TV duties and also those of a work of art. It’s a 4K Quantum Dot TV that can let colors pop and deliver an immersive experience, but when it’s not in use it can display a work of art, a photo of the family pup, or even a digital clock to continue the immersion.

So rather than just being a black screen on your wall or home entertainment cabinet when the TV is off, The Frame makes use of that space to show art and it’s coated with an anti-reflective tech to keep the immersion.

Best of all though, it’s up to $300 off for Presidents Day and you can save even more with an eligible device trade-in. Let’s break it all down and what makes The Frame a chic TV.

Our Pick: 55-inch The Frame ($1,497.99 at Amazon)

Any size of The Frame opts for a 4K QLED panel, essentially an LED panel that features a layer of Quantum Dots and up to a 4K HDR resolution. This way colors, while watching TV or when displaying art, can pop with vibrancy. In our testing The Frame delivers a great viewing experience that doesn’t skimp on details and is enjoyable for a range of content.

The Frame also features a matte display which nearly eliminates reflection on the screen. This way when you’re watching TV or are taking in the art, it looks more realistic. You won’t find indoor lights reflecting on the display or even other objects in the room. It’s pretty neat.

In the box along with The Frame itself, you’ll get Samsung’s “slim-fit wall mount” which makes it a snap to hang this on a wall. If you really want to show off, you can opt for an electronic rotating wall-mount that lets you turn The Frame from horizontal to vertical or vice-versa.

Samsung’s One-Connect box is also here and lets you more easily cable-manage. Rather than plug a bunch of cables directly to the back of the TV, it’s one cable for this box that you can place elsewhere and easily connect your peripherals.

What’s not included is the bezel, which is basically a frame for The Frame—out of the box it just has a black border. If you opt for the 32-inch size, you can get the bezel for free, while it’s $99 for the 43-inch, $149.99 for the 50-inch or $199.99 for the 55-inch. It is an additional cost, but at least you can put the savings from the TV towards the accessory which completes the illusion here.

Last, but not least, Samsung’s The Frame comes out of the box with a Tizen interface. This gives you easy access to all the major streaming services—just remember you’ll need accounts for them—and also the ability to play Xbox games without the need for a console thanks to the Xbox Game Pass built-in.
