Notre Dame, the No. 4 seed, comes into the tournament with five straight victories after earning one of the four double-byes to the quarterfinals and is looking for its third straight trip to the NCAA tournament, where it has reached the Sweet Sixteen the last two years. Louisville has played in the last 12 NCAA tourneys, including five straight visits to the Elite Eight.

The Cardinals needed a 6-0 closing run to hold off 13th-seed Boston College 58-55 on Thursday after trailing by three with less than two minutes remaining. Nyla Harris was the lone Louisville player in double figures with 14 points as the Cardinals overcame 20 turnovers. Kiki Jefferson scores 12.9 points per game, Sydney Taylor gets 10.8 points a night and Olvia Cochran and Harris each averaged 10.7 points and 6.5 rebounds.
Hannah Hidalgo scored 26 points and Sonia Citron added 17 as the Fighting Irish turned a 36-29 halftime deficit into a 74-58 romp over Louisville on Sunday. Hidalgo averages 23.8 points and 5.4 assists, Citron nets 16.3 points per game and Maddy Westbeld averages 14.1 points and 9.4 boards.
Notre Dame is 19-14 against the Cardinals all-time. Louisville won the first meeting between the teams at home back on Feb. 8 by a 73-66 count.
