The No. 12 team in the nation, Illinois, will head on the road in the final weekend of the regular season in men's college basketball to take on Big 10 rival Iowa at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa. The Fighting Illini are 22-8 overall this season heading into conference tournaments next week. They have locked up the No. 2 seed in the conference with a 13-6 record against Big Ten teams. They sit just behind Purdue by three games and ahead of Wisconsin by two games. They are 3-2 in their last five games bookended by losses. They lost to Penn State before beating Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Earlier this week, they lost to Purdue by six points. Terrence Shannon Jr. leads the team in scoring averaging 21.5 points per game on 46.6% shooting from the floor.

The Hawkeyes are 18-12 overall this season and are 10-9 against Big Ten teams. They rank No. 6 in the conference with the opportunity to climb the seedings with a huge upset here this weekend. They have gotten hot as of late too with four wins in their last five games. 

They have won two straight leading into this game with a win over Penn State and Northwestern in the last week. Payton Sandfort leads the team in scoring averaging 16.0 points per game on 45% shooting.
