In the Northeast Conference Tournament Semifinal on Saturday afternoon, top-seeded Central Connecticut State takes on sixth-seeded Wagner. The Seahawks come into Saturday's semifinal with an overall record of 14-15 and they ended the regular season with a conference record of 7-9. Wagner won its quarterfinal game against Sacred Heart in a narrow 60-57 victory. With 11 minutes remaining in the game, Wagner had a seven-point lead which was erased and the two teams traded the lead for the remaining time, but the Seahawks came out on top. Tahron Allen led all scorers with 22 points and pulled down six rebounds. Tyje Kelton came off the bench to score 12 points and grabbed six rebounds. On the season, the Seahawks are led by Melvin Council Jr., averaging 14.8 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game.

This is the third meeting between the two programs this season with both of the previous games being one point victories for the Blue Devils. The latest was a 73-72 win for CCSU.
