On Saturday afternoon, Atlantic 10 tournament play will continue with the second semifinal as seventh-seeded Rhode Island and sixth-seeded Saint Louis square off at the Henrico Sports & Events Center. The Billikens made it through to the semifinals after beating third-seeded Saint Joseph's 57-47 yesterday. Dee Dee Davis was the only Billiken in double digits with a big 22-point performance, but it was enough to pull off the upset. Davis also led the team on the boards with nine rebounds to narrowly miss a double-double in the win. The team finished the game shooting 42.3% from the field, but only 23.1% from beyond the arc; an area that will definitely need improvement moving forward.

The Rams pulled off a huge upset in the quarterfinal round, as well, when the team beat second-seeded VCU 65-63 on Friday. Peyton Kennedy scored 22 points to lead the team offensively while Kyla McMakin and Brooklyn Gray joined her in double figures with 16 and 12 points, respectively. Tierra Simon and Julia Martinez each pulled down seven rebounds to lead on the boards and help the team hold onto possession. Defensively, the team forced 17 VCU turnovers and capitalized on every opportunity they had to keep the game close.
Rhode Island and Saint Louis met twice this season and split the results with Rhode Island winning the first game 63-58 and Saint Louis winning the second in a 76-73 victory.
