The Fighting Irish come into Friday with an overall record of 14-9 and a conference record of 0-3 after dropping its conference-opening series to No. 20 Virginia Tech two weeks ago. The team has now won three games straight with the most recent being a 10-9 victory over Bowling Green in eight innings on Tuesday. Carlli Kloss went 2-for-4 with two RBI while Karina Gaskins went 2-for-5 with three RBI. Rachel Allen was the hero, however, hitting a homer in the seventh to regain the lead and a single in the eighth to bring in the winning run.

The Ramblin' Wreck come into the weekend with an impressive 18-8 overall record and a perfect conference record of 6-0 so far. The team had been on a 15-game win streak but dropped its most recent to No. 5 Georgia in a 6-3 defeat on Wednesday. Georgia Tech only had three hits in the loss. Mallorie Black hit a double to bring in two runs and Abby Hughes brought in the third run with her only hit of the day. Blake Neleman was credited with the loss for the Ramblin' Wreck after pitching two innings and giving up three earned runs.
The last time Georgia Tech and Notre Dame met was during last year's ACC tournament and Georgia Tech earned an 8-1 win to eliminate Notre Dame.
