The Irish's lone state title came in 1975.

The Defenders held off a 31-point barrage from St. Ignace star Jonny Ingalls to take a 60-53 victory in Thursday's semifinal game. Keaton Blanker finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds while Wesley Kaman added 14. Jordan VanKlompenber's two free throws with with 34 seconds left extended the Tri-unity Christian lead to six.
Sacred Heart held Allen Park Inter-City Baptist to a season-low 33 points in its semifinal win, allowing the Chargers just 25.6% shooting overall. Noah Zeien led the Irish with 19 points while Aidan Halliday tossed in 11 in the win.
The Irish and Defenders met earlier this season, with Tri-unity Christian handing Sacred Heart a 71-41 loss. The Irish come into the championship game with seven straight wins while the Defenders have won eight in a row.
