On Thursday, the Thunderhawks, the No. 5 seed at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, face off with fourth-seeded White Bear Lake Area (20-7-1), which upset the top seed in its sectional championship last week. The Bears haven't been to state since 2019 and have lost 19 consecutive quarterfinal games without a victory since their first state tourney in 1945.
