The Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies will meet for the second time this spring training season as both teams look to extend their win streaks.

In spring training play on Thursday, the Boston Red Sox will take on the Philadelphia Phillies at BayCare Ballpark. The Phillies come into Wednesday's game with a record of 7-8 in spring training after beating the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday in a 4-1 victory. The Tigers got on the board first with a solo home run from Matt Vierling, but their scoring stopped there. Whit Merrifield answered with his own home run in the bottom of the sixth to tie things up. The Phillies put up three runs in the eighth to secure the win with RBI singles from Carlos De La Cruz and Jake Cave. The team's other run was came from a wild pitch to allow Kody Clemens to come home. Nick Nelson took the win for the Phils to move to 2-0 in spring training.

The Red Sox have found early success this spring training season and will look to continue it moving forward. The team is currently 12-7 after beating the Yankees on yesterday in a 9-4 victory. Romy González led the Boston offense, going 2-for-2 at the plate. Tyler McDonough and Bobby Dalbec each had two RBI with McDonough going 1-for-2 and Dalbec going 2-for-4. Nick Pivetta got the start for the Red Sox, pitching three innings and striking out three batters before the team turned to five more pitchers to finish the game. 

The Phillies and the Red Sox have met once during spring training and the game resulted in a 7-6 win for Boston.
