DJ Stewart led off the bottom of the first with a home run for the Mets and Starling Marte singled home a run for an early 2-1 lead but right-hander Adrian Houser, acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers over the winter, allowed four runs in five innings while striking out six as New York lost to the Washington Nationals 7-3 on Friday night.
Right-hander J.P. France is scheduled to make his first start of the spring for the Astros after working through shoulder inflammation.
