The division-leading New York Rangers aim for their first winning streak of March as they host the struggling New Jersey Devils on Monday.

After a 10-game winning streak in February, the New York Rangers have lost three of their last five games, but can earn their first winning streak of the month Monday as they welcome the New Jersey Devils inside Madison Square Garden for a Metropolitan Division showdown. The Devils, who have lost seven of their last 10 games and are 1-4 to start March, are six points behind the New York Islanders for the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. New York has won the first two meetings against New Jersey this season by a combined 10-4 score with both wins coming on the road.

Rangers winger Artemi Panarin leads the team in goals and assists this season, collecting five points in the first two meetings against New Jersey. Panarin is three points shy of his third consecutive 90-point season and his fourth in five years with the Rangers. 

New Jersey is third in the NHL in face-off percentage, winning 53.9 percent of the time despite not having a player ranked in the Top 15 in the league. Center Nico Hischier is 17th in the NHL, winning 57.0 percent of his face-offs.

The Rangers are one of only two teams in the league that rank in the top five in both the power play and on the penalty kill.
