On Tuesday night, the Montreal Canadiens (24-30-10) host the Columbus Blue Jackets (22-32-10) in an Eastern Conference matchup. This will be the third of three meetings between these two teams this year. The first matchup was back in late October at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Right wing Cole Caufield and center Nick Suzuki both had three point games (one goal and two assists for each) as the Habs came back from an early 2-0 deficit to win in overtime. Caufield delivered the game-winner in that one. Montreal won that game despite getting out-shot 36 to 29 and winning only 46.3% of the faceoffs that night.

The second matchup was in late November in Columbus as well. Montreal also won that one. This time the final was 4-2, although again it was Montreal winning after falling behind early. Caufield had another goal in that game.
Coming into this Tuesday matchup Columbus has won three of its last five games. However, the Blue Jackets did lose last time out, falling 2-1 to the Nashville Predators on Saturday.
Montreal is trying to kick a two-game losing skid, after dropping games to the Carolina Hurricanes and Toronto Maple Leafs. That Toronto game was the Habs' most recent outing, also on Saturday.
