Meanwhile, Tigres has won just once in its last five outings across all competitions and is without a win in three away trips, traveling to face a side that’s yet to lose at home so far this season.

Heading into Week 11 of the Clausura campaign, América sits fourth in the standings and level on points with both Monterrey and Cruz Azul, eying a spot at the summit outright with another win on the board.
Tigres, meanwhile, is sixth and has a chance to climb level on points with Saturday’s host with a rare away victory, though it’s been almost half a decade since the club has beaten América on its own turf.
It was of course these two teams that contested the Apertura final in December, with fans praying we’ll see similar levels of entertainment between two of the Liga MX elite.
Tigres managed to force extra time on that occasion at the Estadio Azteca, but three red cards ultimately took their toll on the team as Las Aguilas ran out 3-0 victors (4-1 winners on aggregate).
However, there will be no extra time on this occasion as Robert Siboldi’s side look to see out another 90 minutes avoiding defeat at the Azteca.
Julian Quinones has been the first name on América’s score sheet in the club’s past three outings, while Tigres will be looking to Andre-Pierre Gignac after the Frenchman bagged two of their past three breakthroughs.
