The Vegas Thrill become the last team in the new Pro Volleyball Federation to open their season when they visit the Omaha Supernovas at CHI Health Center on Wednesday night.

The Vegas Thrill finally get their chance to hit the court on Wednesday night for their Pro Volleyball Federation season opener when they take on the Omaha Supernovas (1-1) at CHI Health Center in Omaha. The seven-team league, founded in 2022, opened its inaugural season on Jan. 24. Besides the Thrill and Supernovas, the PVF has franchises in Atlanta, Columbus, Grand Rapids, Orlando and San Diego, with plans for three more teams in Dallas, Indianapolis and Kansas City to join next season. The season opener in Omaha between the Atlanta Vibe and the Supernovas set a record for attendance at a women's pro volleyball match in the U.S. at 11,624.

Omaha picked up its first win on Saturday, sweeping the visiting San Diego Mojo in three sets. Bethania De La Cruz led the Supernovas with 13 kills in 27 attacks, libero Kendall White made 10 digs and Sydney Hilley logged 26 assists in the match. Omaha had just two reception errors in the match and Tori Dixon had three blocks.

Vegas' roster is anchored by 25-year-old Las Vegas native Berkeley Oblad, a middle blocker who played at the University of Utah before playing professionally in France. Veteran setter Alisha Glass Childress is an Olympic bronze medalist who starred at Penn State before playing several years overseas in Brazil, Poland and Italy.

Teams will play 24 matches each before the top four teams advance to the playoffs.
