The Rockets won 103-101 against the San Antonio Spurs with Fred VanVleet leading the Rockets with 21 points. San Antonio got the score within one with less than 20 seconds to go but Houston was able to prevail with free throws. With the win, Houston won the season-series 3-1. This is the first game of the season between the Wizards and Rockets.

The Wizards are coming off a 109-97 loss against the Memphis Grizzlies. Washington was trying to accomplish something they haven't done all season which is win three in a row. With the Grizzlies' struggles this season, the feat seemed possible but Memphis had a rally late in the game to thwart the effort. Trey Jemison of the Grizzlies scored a career-high 24 points while Kyle Kuzma scored the same amount for the Wizards. This game will be an even tougher road game for the Wizards.
