It’s been nearly six months since Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 alongside tablets and smartwatches at the brand's first-ever Galaxy Unpacked in Seoul. And now, Samsung is setting January 17, 2024, as the next Unpacked launch event.

Samsung just sent out invites for 2024’s first Galaxy Unpacked event, which will be live-streamed at 10 AM Pacific Time/1 PM Eastern Time for anyone to watch. Along with teasers on the invite, there is a pre-reserve offer that will let you unlock a $50 credit on whatever Samsung announces. Simply fill out your name and email before January 16th, and you’ll score a $50 bonus on Samsung’s next Galaxy smartphone.

Judging by the invite, and based on what Samsung typically uses this winter Unpacked for, we’re expecting the following Galaxy S smartphones—likely the S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra—to be unveiled.

What to expect at Samsung’s January 2024 Galaxy Unpacked?

Unlike Samsung’s last few Galaxy Unpacked events, this one will likely be more focused on smartphones, specifically the flagship Galaxy S lineup. These are Samsung’s core non-folding smartphones with vibrant and sharp displays, at least three cameras, and plenty of performance for work or play.

If you’re after a new Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Book, or even Galaxy Tablets, you should consider the current lineups as they likely won’t be refreshed here. We’re also expecting Samsung to keep a design language similar to the Galaxy S24 family that resembles the S23 lineup, including the Ultra, which offers additional cameras and the integrated S-Pen.

The invite itself features three semi-star and semi-square floating objects in a gold, titanium-esque build. That likely hints at three smartphones, the Galaxy S24, S24, and S24 Ultra, which should keep screen sizes similar to the S23 counterparts. You can expect improved optics across the line and better speed from a new design for Galaxy Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

An accompanying teaser video that Samsung shared directly names and hints at “Galaxy AI”—which means you can expect a trove of AI-infused or powered elements to these devices. That could mean improvements to isolating your voice when on a phone call, more advanced photography or videography modes, and even more efficient ways to let you use the smartphone how you see fit. It should make the new Galaxy lineup formidable competition to Google’s Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro as well as Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.

Even if you’re only a little bit interested in what Samsung will show off, it’s likely a good idea to sign up for the pre-reserve. It simply only requires a name and email to be eligible for an exclusive $50 discount, if you decide to get Samsung’s next Galaxy device. It’s an entirely no-commitment offer like we’ve seen the brand offer for previous Galaxy Unpacked events.

You can sign-up to reserve “the next Galaxy” on Samsung’s website here, and also watch the accompanying teaser videos as Samsung gets ready for the event on January 17th, 2024. Be sure to check back on SI Showcase for the latest then on what Samsung unveils.
