On Friday afternoon, No. 15 Texas will take on No. 3 LSU in the first game of the Astros Foundation College Classic at Minute Maid Park in Houston. The Longhorns come into Friday's game with a record of 7-1 so far and are on a six-game win streak. The team's most recent game resulted in a big 15-4 win over St. John's. The Longhorns were led offensively by shortstop Jalin Flores who had three hits, two of which were home runs, and six RBI. Will Gasparino added another four RBI with three hits and three runs. Texas used seven different pitchers in the game with Luke Harrison earning the win after taking over for starting pitcher Max Grubbs.

The Tigers are 8-1 overall with the latest game being a big 16-4 win over Rice. The 16 runs were spurred by 11 hits to have left fielder Mac Bingham and catcher Brady Neal each score three runs. Neal had five RBI and two home runs in the game while center fielder Paxton King had four RBI and two runs with a walk and a stolen base. The Tigers used nine different pitchers in the win and Mauricio Rodriguez and Jackson Mayo each recorded three strikeouts.

Texas leads the overall series with LSU 28-14-1 and the Longhorns have won four of the last six meetings. LSU posted a 3-0 win over Texas last season, however, and will look to earn its second straight win over the Longhorns on Friday.
