The Demon Deacons came into this weekend's series on a two-game losing streak after dropping their series finale against Duke in a 10-8 defeat and losing to Coastal Carolina earlier in the week in a big 17-9 loss that is bound to drop them in the rankings. Nick Kurtz and Seaver King each recorded two hits against Coastal Carolina to lead the offensive efforts, but it wasn't enough to hold off the Chanticleers. Kurtz finished the game with a team-high four RBI and Jake Reinisch produced two from his single hit of the game. The Demon Deacons struggled to find their footing on the mound and ultimately used nine pitchers in the loss. Ben Shenosky was credited with the loss after giving up four earned runs in 0.1 innings.
The last time Wake Forest and Virginia met was during the 2022 season and the Cavaliers took the series in a 2-1 win.
