On Saturday afternoon, No. 5 Maryland will host No. 3 Virginia as the teams meet in non-conference lacrosse action at SECU Stadium. The Terps come into Saturday's contest with a record of 5-1 so far. The team's most recent game resulted in a narrow 14-13 overtime victory over Brown last weekend. Braden Erksa led the Maryland offense with five goals and added three assists for an eight-point game. Daniel Maltz added four goals for the Terps while two other players finished the game with two goals. Logan McNaney played the full game in net for Maryland to anchor the defense and had 10 saves in the win.

The Cavaliers bring a two game win streak into Saturday's match and an overall record of 5-1. The team's most recent game resulted in a 19-15 win over Towson on the road last weekend. Payton Cormier finished the game with a team-high seven goals for Virginia to tie his career-high and added two assists. McCabe Millon and Connor Shellenberger each scored three goals for the Cavaliers, as well. Matthew Nunes played in net for Virginia to improve to 5-1 on the year. 

When Maryland and Virginia met last season in non-conference play, Maryland took the win in an exciting 14-13 overtime victory over then No. 1 Virginia.
