How to Watch Sporting CP vs Atalanta: Stream Europa League Live, TV Channel
Familiar foes Sporting CP and Atalanta will go to war once again on Wednesday as the Europa League group-stage opponents get reacquainted in the competition’s round of 16. The two teams had never met prior to this season but will end the campaign having faced off on four occasions in total, but only one can reach the last eight of this term’s race for the Europa League crown. The match will take place on Wednesday rather than the Thursday slot traditionally reserved for Europa League fixtures due to the fact Lisbon giant Benfica will be facing Rangers in the Portuguese capital this week.

Atalanta got the better of Sporting across their two meetings in Group D, having already won 2-1 in Lisbon this season in what should prove a huge boost of confidence for Gian Piero Gasperini’s men.
The Italians then drew at home in the reverse fixture to finish three points clear at the pool summit, while the Lions settled for second place before beating Young Boys in the play-offs to advance again.
That defeat to La Dea is the only time Primeira Liga Sporting has lost at home all season, having won 14 and drawn once in its 15 outings at the Estadio Jose Alvalade since then.
Meanwhile, Atalanta has seen its form suffer of late and heads into the midweek matchup on the back of two defeats, having been humbled 4-0 by Inter Milan before losing 2-1 at home to Bologna.
That latter defeat will have been particularly hurtful considering Gasperini’s side held the lead for a healthy percentage of that game before two goals in four minutes saw them miss the chance to leapfrog Bologna up to fourth in Serie A.
Sporting’s home form has created the foundation on which this season’s league title charge has been built, but Ruben Amorim’s men will look to bolster their credentials as continental contenders, too.
