Freshman JuJu Watkins has been the catalyst for the turnaround this season for the Trojans as the second leading scorer in the country. She has built a resume to be the second freshman ever to win National Player of the Year with her individual play and the Trojans team success.

This season the Trojans and Bruins split their two regular season games making this the rubber match. Whoever comes out on top here plays the winner of the first semifinal between 13th ranked Oregon State and second-ranked Stanford for the Pac-12 Championship.
In the first game the Bruins remained undefeated with a 71-64 win led by Londynn Jones with 21 points and seven rebounds on 5-8 shooting from three. As a team four of five starters finished in double-figures and held on for the win despite Watkins going for 27 points for the Trojans.
Then in the second game the Trojans gave the Bruins their first loss of the season behind 32 points and 10 rebounds from Watkins. These teams are about as evenly matched as any two in the country and have the potential to push all the way to the Final Four this season after wrapping up the Pac-12 Tournament.
