How to Watch the 2023 USFL Season: Full Schedule, Team Info
The revamped USFL returns for its second season on April 15. Opening day will be led by primetime matchup between the 2022 USFL champion Birmingham Stallions against the New Jersey Generals, who also made it to the playoffs last season. The league’s newest addition—the Memphis Showboats—will also suit up on April 15. They’ll take on the Philadelphia Stars, who were also playoff contenders last season.
Both opening games will be broadcast live on Fox.
The eight-team USFL will feature 10 weeks of regular season games, with each team playing its divisional rivals twice.
Where are the eight USFL teams located?
The USFL is split into two divisions—the USFL North and XFL South. Seven teams are returning from the league’s first season.
There are four USFL host cities, which serve as the “home” stadiums for two programs each. For the 2023 season, the Birmingham Stallions and New Orleans Breakers will be hosted in Birmingham, Ala.; the Pittsburgh Maulers and New Jersey Generals will be hosted in Canton, Ohio; the Michigan Panthers and Philadelphia Stars will be hosted in Detroit; and the Memphis Showboats and Houston Gamblers will be hosted in Memphis.

Who are players to watch in the USFL?
USFL Vice President of Operations Daryl Johnston said the “hook” of the league is “giving these young men another opportunity.”
“Sometimes, it's a non-traditional path back to the NFL. Sometimes it's just changing the narrative that's out there about you. Sometimes it's just showcasing your skill set,” he added.
2022 USFL MVP KaVontae Turpin made his way to the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys following a standout season with the New Jersey Maulers, and other talented players have a chance to make their mark in 2023.
Notable players drafted to the USFL for 2023 include quarterback Chase Brice and wide receiver Tyler Scott.
Brice, who spent two seasons at Appalachian State, set the school single-season passing record in 2021 (3,337 yards) and was also instrumental in helping the Mountaineers upset Texas A&M in ’22. Scott recorded 1,439 receiving yards with Cincinnati, with 899 of those coming in the ‘22 season.
