Vanderbilt has made 16 straight trips to the NCAA tournament under coach Tim Corbin. The Cougars haven't made the tourney since 2018. Left-hander Antoine Jean is set to make his third start of the season on Saturday. He is 1-0 in 10 innings with a 0.90 ERA and 1.10 WHIP. Right-hander Bryce Cunningham will take the ball for the Commodores. In two starts, he has allowed four runs in seven innings, walking seven and striking out 12.

Vanderbilt fought back from an early 3-0 deficit to beat Louisiana 7-4 on Friday. Alan Espinal's three-run homer in the seventh inning broke a 3-3 tie. Greysen Carter got the win with three innings of relief, allowing one run and fanning four. RJ Austin is slashing 395/.472/.512 with a homer and a team-best 14 RBI.
The Cougars couldn't close out a one-run lead in the ninth and dropped an 8-7 decision in 10 innings to Texas State. A four-run eighth inning gave them a 6-5 lead. Tre Jones homered and had three RBI. He is off to a strong start at the plate, slashing .455/.514/.818 with three homers and 13 RBI, all team highs.
The Commodores will close out their trip to Houston with a matchup on Sunday against No. 15 Texas while Houston takes on Louisiana in the final game of the event on Sunday night.
