The Cardinal got off to a slow start, as they lost five of their first six games, but they have turned things around and are coming off a three-game sweep of Rice over the weekend. They got great pitching in the sweep, as they gave up just seven total runs in those three wins.

The Golden Bears come into Tuesday on a two-game losing streak after dropping games to Ohio State and Pitt over the weekend. They gave up 28 combined runs in the losses as they struggled to slow down the Buckeyes and Panthers.

The weekend losses snapped a five-game winning streak and has dropped their record to 7-3 on the season.

Poor pitching and defense has plagued them in their losses, but they have also played well as they have given up four or fewer runs in six of their seven wins this season.
