The Utes have played well so far this season and bring a two game win streak into Tuesday night's game, putting them at 11-4 overall this season and 2-1 in Pac-12 play. Utah hit the road on Friday to take on Washington State in the Pac-12 opener, falling 7-1. The team bounced back, however, and picked up wins in the second and third games to win the series. Sunday's 7-6 victory was a back-and-forth battle that looked like it may slip away from the Utes with a homer from Washington State in the eighth. Kai Roberts went 3-for-5 for the Utes with two RBI to lead the offensive play. He hit a home run in the third and a single in the seventh to bring runs in. Randon Hostert got the win for Utah to improve to 2-1 with four innings of work in which he struck out two.
The last time BYU and Utah met was in May last year and the game resulted in a 13-7 win for the Cougars.
