In the first semifinal game of the Atlantic 10 tournament, fifth-seeded Duquesne will take on top-seeded Richmond for a chance to play for the A-10 tournament title. The Dukes made it through to the semifinal round after beating fourth-seeded George Mason by a narrow one-point margin on Friday in a 63-62 victory. Tess Myers led the scoring efforts for Duquesne with 12 points, but Precious Johnson and Jerni Kiaku finished right behind her with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Megan McConnell led on the boards with 10 rebounds for the Dukes and added eight points to help elevate the team to its second win in a row.

Richmond advanced to the semifinal after defeating Loyola-Chicago on Friday afternoon in a 70-54 victory. The Spiders, who are now 27–5 overall, pulled out to a 20-9 advantage by the end of the first quarter and never looked back. Addie Budnik led Richmond with 18 points while Maggie Doogan added 13 points and six rebounds. On the season Doogan leads the team in scoring and rebounds with 15.6 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game.

This is the third matchup between the two programs this season. Duquesne won the first game 72-59 while Richmond won the second 90-74.
